Teijin’s Mechanical Recycling Grade is a polycarbonate resin made from high-quality post-consumer recycled materials. Despite its high recycled content, it ensures product safety and reliability, providing peace of mind in use. This series contributes to reducing GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions and supports the realization of a sustainable society. It expands possibilities for environmentally conscious product development.

Features

Teijin’s Mechanical Recycling grade achieves up to 70% recycled content for non-reinforced grades and up to 50% for reinforced grades. In terms of GHG (greenhouse gas) emission reduction, up to 70% reduction is possible for non-reinforced grades and up to 60% for reinforced grades.

High-Quality Post-Consumer Recycled Materials

Teijin’s Strategy Based on the Proposed ELV Regulation

  • Teijin’s ELV-compliant grades are polycarbonate resins designed for open-loop recycling, utilizing high-quality recovered headlamp materials from end-of-life vehicles. These grades maintain virgin-equivalent quality even at high ELV content ratios.
  • Looking ahead, Teijin aims to promote not only open-loop recycling but also closed-loop mechanical recycling. Furthermore, for waste that is difficult to recycle mechanically, Teijin will implement solvent-based recycling to regenerate resources.
