Engineering Resin for Industrial 3D Printing

We offer a range of engineering resins suitable for various 3D printing applications.

Introduction

As in‑house 3D printing continues to rapidly expand across automotive, architecture, and medical fields, many teams are seeking materials that deliver reliable strength, dimensional accuracy, and durability for functional parts, prototypes, and jigs and fixtures.
Polymer extrusion 3D printers, such as FDM (also known as FFF), enable rapid production of complex geometries; however, material performance—including resistance to heat, chemicals, and environmental conditions—remains essential for achieving consistent and repeatable results.
Teijin’s PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) engineering resin offers exceptional stiffness, dimensional stability, and low sensitivity to humidity, providing stable mechanical properties even in demanding industrial 3D printing environments and supporting precision‑focused applications without compromising reliability.

Features

  • High stiffness and dimensional stability
Maintains shape accuracy over time and resists long‑term deformation.
  • Chemical and weather resistance
Retains performance under chemical exposure and outdoor environments.
  • Low Moisture Absorption with Minimal Dimensional Change
Less affected by humidity, ensuring stable dimensions.
  • Compatible with FDM/FFF printing
Printing guidelines—including nozzle temperature and pre‑drying conditions—are provided in the technical documents.

Lineup

In addition to PEN, we offer a lineup of resin materials that can be selected based on specific application needs:

  • PC (Polycarbonate): High heat resistance and high transparency; available in standard and flame‑retardant grades
  • PC alloys: Balanced mechanical properties and good processability
  • Reinforced PC: Glass‑fiber and carbon‑fiber reinforced grades for increased stiffness and heat resistance.

Detailed performance data, recommended printing conditions, and application examples are available in the downloadable technical documents.
